Angelica Ross to open QTPOC Conference at UCR on February 28

ASPB and the 15th Annual QTPOC Conference present Live, Work, Pose with Angelica Ross at a free event on Friday, February 28, 2020 on the UC Riverside campus.

From the board room to film/TV sets to the Obama White House to the National Trans Visibility March in Washington D.C., Angelica Ross is a leading figure of success and strength in the movement for transgender and racial equality. She portrayed the character Candy Ferocity in the hit FX series Pose and is currently starring as psychologist Donna Chambers in American Horror Story: 1984.

Ross is the President of Miss Ross, Inc. and founder of TransTech Social Enterprises, an organization that helps people lift themselves out of poverty through technical training and digital work. Through TransTech Social Enterprises, Ross creates social impact and brings economic empowerment to marginalized trans and LGBTQI+ communities. In September 2019, Ross also became the first openly transgender person to host an American presidential forum.

Ross will speak in HUB 302 at 7pm, with doors opening at 6pm. Free parking is available in Lot 1. ASL interpretation provided. DoctorJonPaul will moderate.

This event is co-sponsored by the Associated Students Program Board, QTPOCC Committee, Chicano Student Programs, LGBT Resource Center, HUB Cultural Events, Residence Life, Dance Department, and the Highlander Empowerment Referendum.
