QTPOC Conference features Bamby Salcedo

Bamby Salcedo
The 15th Annual Queer Trans People of Color Conference, hosted by UC Riverside on February 28-29, 2020, will feature Bamby Salcedo during Saturday’s events.

Bamby Salcedo is a national and international transgender Latina Woman and President of the TransLatin@ Coalitiona national organization that focuses on addressing the issues of transgender Latinxs in the U.S. Bamby has served and participated in many local, national and international organizations and planning groups. This work mediates intersections of race, gender, sexuality, age, social class, HIV+ status, immigration status and more. She is also “Madrina de Honor” of UCR’s ¡Presente! Conference, inspiring students to follow in her footsteps in activism and community investment.

“It’s important that we see our humanity in one another and that we decolonize our minds. We don’t have to live by those beliefs that we have been taught, we can make our own judgments, and see that trans people are people. Once you get to know someone who is trans, you’ll see that trans people are magical in nature and we’re bad-asses.” – Bamby Salcedo, LGBTQNation Interview

The QTPOCC online Registration deadline is Friday, February 7, 2020. Register to hear Bamby speak and to join over 430 people (so far) in community at QTPOCC.
